Position Summary Austin Peay State University invites
applications for Conservation Coordinator for the Tennessee Plant
Conservation Alliance within the Dept. of Biology and Center for
Field Biology. The successful candidate’s primary role will be to
serve as the coordinator for the statewide TN Plant Conservation
Alliance program. Some publishing, development of plant
conservation curricula, and grant-writing is expected. Two year
initial position. Continuation of employment based on continued
grant funding. Essential Functions -Navigate groups through
meetings, negotiating project details with colleagues from multiple
institutions, developing projects into programs, motivating
students and volunteers, and empowering others to dedicate
themselves to their work out of sense of responsibility to plant
conservation. -Understand basic natural history, ecology, and
vegetation, of eastern North America. coordinating on-the-ground
projects, including projects focused on species-level conservation
and broader community restoration. -Coordinate projects with
diverse individuals and groups, including the general public,
private landowners, gardeners, agency personnel, volunteers,
non-profit staff, undergraduate and graduate students, faculty,
staff, and high school-aged children.
