About the Role As a key member of AESC US LLC, you will play a crucial role in advancing our mission to lead in full-value-chain battery solutions for a sustainable future. You will be managing a team across multiple shifts and coordinating activities between operations and Quality Assurance. Controlling department costs, scrap, purchased supplies, and quality of products while supporting uptime targets. The ideal candidate will partner with the management on key initiatives and will develop, implement, and manage various projects and programs in support of overall business effectiveness.Your work within the Quality team will directly impact our strategic goals and contribute to our position as a global leader in battery technology. What You Will Do
Coordinate the development and planning of new programs and eventsResponsible for goals and objectives as they pertain to quality, cost, delivery, and safetyMaintain a positive employee relations environmentEstablish and monitor quality performance to cost budgets. Implements proper measures to continually reduce costsAssist the production and engineering departments with investigations and resolutions of chronic or severe in-plant quality problems. Decides disposition of non-conforming productManage Engineers responsible for warranty, purchase parts, and customer supportPlan for new projects and processes based on information from engineering and management that affects assigned areas of responsibility. Contract other workgroups with the company to obtain their services and support for determining the content and timing of these new processesSupervise and provide leadership, coaching, guidance, training and staff development; interview and select unit employees; plan and evaluate employee performance, recommend merit increases, transfers, and promotions, counsel and discipline employees as necessary; recommend termination when appropriate, and monitor the time and attendance of team membersKnowledgeable in AESC and worldwide leading quality standards and have firm practical knowledge. Analytical thinking, communication, interpersonal and implementation skills What You Need Bachelor's degree in Engineering discipline (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering)Minimum of 10 years of directly related professional-level Engineering experience working in manufacturingMinimum of 3 years in an engineering role exhibiting leadership skillsMust be a self-motivated individual with good written and verbal communication skills and data-driven decision-making skills.Must have a good understanding of root cause analysis (RCA), problem-solving techniques, and process control management for quality and throughput issue resolutionAbility to quickly obtain a working knowledge of lithium-ion batteriesIndependent, driven, eager to learn, strong time management skills, and the ability to manage simultaneous and often changing prioritiesNew model experience and equipment design, installation, and commissioning, PFMEA and Control PlansKnowledge of project management related to the introduction of products to market and PPAP's to the customerAbility to work and lead contractors through the process of RDP to commissioning of equipmentAbility to follow specific directions and to work independently in a fast-paced atmosphereExperience performing internal and external auditsExperience working and leading a team across cultural and discipline boundaries.Ability to apply technical math skills to solve real-world problemsWorking knowledge in Microsoft Office applications Proficient knowledge of AutoCAD and InventorUnderstands and follows all standards of IATF16949 and VDA 6.3 quality standardsUnderstands and follows all standards of ISO14001 environmental standardsWhat is "Nice to Have"?High level of applicable technical skills with Statistics, Basic Engineering PrinciplesAutomotive OEM or Tier 1 Supplier experience New plant design, build, and commissioning Six Sigma CertificationKnowledge of battery manufacturing, EV manufacturing, or refinery operationsAutomotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier experience Cross-cultural experienceHigh-volume manufacturing environment experienceStart-up experience What We Offer Welcome to our state-of-the-art Gigafactory, where you'll have the opportunity to tackle the world's most fascinating challenges alongside exceptionally talented individuals who are driven to make a difference.
