Green, Kentucky, 42101! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession:
Nursing Specialty: Surgical Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years as
a Registered Nurse. 1 year of travel nursing experience is
required. License: Current state licensure in Kentucky or compact
state license in hand is required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
certifications are required. Must-Have: Experience with vascular
surgery populations, including AAA repair, carotid endarterectomy,
fem-pop bypass, and similar surgeries. Experience with intra-aortic
balloon pump, TAVR, pneumonectomy, and post-thoracic surgery.
Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs. Familiarity
with stroke guidelines and performance measures for acute ischemic
and hemorrhagic strokes is preferred. Description: This role
involves working in a mixed acuity unit. The nurse will be
responsible for patient care, ensuring patient safety, and managing
a variety of life-supporting equipment. Patient ratios may vary
from 1:2-3 for unit patients to 1:4-5 for step-down acuity. The
role requires proficiency in assessing and managing critical care
patients. Candidates should be familiar with accessing/managing
ports, arterial line management, and ventilator management.
Experience in care of ventilated patients and effective management
of dysrhythmias is essential. The nurse will assist with procedures
such as chest tube insertion/removal and management of CVP lines.
Maintaining a high standard of care and keeping up to date with
best practices in critical care nursing is a must. This position
may involve providing education and support to patients and their
families. Regular interaction with interdisciplinary teams will be
necessary to provide comprehensive care. Candidates must commit to
staying within a specified distance of the facility for emergency
coverage. Experience in a certified stroke center is preferred. The
position involves some weekend shifts and requires flexibility in
