Job Description:
The Department of Pathology at the University of Louisville
continues grow and expand and is seeking two full-time academic
anatomic pathologists. This position offers some flexibility in
scheduling and may be filledat 0.8 to 1.0 FTE. Academic rank will
be commensurate with the candidate’s experience, qualifications,
and academic achievements. Candidates should have a strong interest
in promoting the academic mission, including maintaining scholarly
activities and participating in graduate and undergraduate medical
education. Applicants should have fellowship training or a strong
and proven interest in one or more of the following practice areas:
medical renal, thoracic/lung, gynecologic, head and neck pathology,
cytopathology, dermatopathology. Prior work experience in an
academic setting is desirable. A track record of educational
achievements and publications demonstrating clinical and scientific
accomplishments is also desirable. The selected candidate will join
a team of accomplished and high-energy faculty who embody
collaborative teamwork and foster a welcoming, diverse, and
inclusive environment. The applicants should be board-certified in
anatomic or combined anatomic and clinical pathology and be
qualified for an unrestricted medical license in the Commonwealth
of Kentucky. The successful candidate will be adept at navigating
complex healthcare settings and services delivered at multiple
locations. UofL Health is a fully integrated regional academic
health system with nine hospitals, four medical centers, Brown
Cancer Center, The Eye Institute, and more than 250 physician
practices, largely concentrated in the Louisville metro area. The
Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is a leader in
digital pathology and artificial intelligence with a 100% digital
clinical workflow that affords residents and faculty unique
opportunities and allows them the flexibility of remote access. The
department is also supported by several state-of-the-art research
and diagnostic laboratories, including strong core instrument
facilities with modern molecular diagnostics capabilities.
