HCA Healthcare invites applications for a dedicated PACU Nurse at Sarah Cannon Cancer Center, committed to providing post-anesthesia care with a focus on oncology patients. Your role will involve monitoring patients emerging from anesthesia, assessing their status, and ensuring their recovery is smooth and effective. This position plays a crucial role in the broader mission of HCA Healthcare to care for and improve human life by delivering compassionate, patient-centered care. Monitor vital signs and overall physical and mental condition of patients recovering from anesthesia. Administer medications as prescribed and monitor for reactions and complications. Provide postoperative education and guidance to patients and their families, including pain management and recovery expectations. Collaborate with anesthesiologists, oncologists, and other surgical staff to ensure comprehensive postoperative care. Record and maintain accurate patient medical records. Respond swiftly to patient emergencies or complications arising from anesthesia or surgery. Strong clinical skills in a post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) Excellent patient assessment and monitoring skills Proficient in administering medications and understanding their effects Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and medical team members Capability to handle stress and make quick, informed decisions Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license BLS certification Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification Preferably Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN) certification
