Role Summary

This position provides administrative and clerical support to the Human Resources Department. The Team Member is expected to initiate solutions to any array of situations and maintain the confidentiality of the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Know and understand Bowling Green Metalforming Quality and Environmental policies.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Follows and supports and Magna's operating principles, including:

    • Attend and participate in Team, Department, Plant-wide and any other meetings as required.

    • Contribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction activities.
    • Perform Customer service functions by correctly responding to team members requests and questions in a timely fashion.
    • Ability to handle difficult team members situations in a professional manner
    • Assists with monitoring attendance occurrences and makes adjustments in attendance system.
    • Back up receptionist during breaks and lunch as needed.
    • Liaison for uniform company. Deals with ordering new uniforms, size changes, terming orders, audits weekly uniform invoices and lists.
    • Assists payroll weekly with DAR calculations.
    • Sends out Performance Reviews monthly.
    • Assists in the recruiting and hiring process as needed.
    • Update systems as applicable during the New hire Process, Termination Process, Employee Status Change, ID badges, parking permits, etc.
    • Participates in benefits administration to include preparation of new hire and open enrollment packets.
    • Champion the coordination of company events, including the Summer Picnic, Christmas parties, etc.
    • Schedule, publish, prepare content and assist during Plant Wide Meetings and planning session.
    • Assist with scheduling, coordination and setup for New Hire Orientation process.
    • Assists or prepares correspondence for bulletin boards and plasma screens.
    • Perform all daily administrative activities of the department including: filing, typing, photocopying, answering telephones, faxes, payroll, copier repair, preparing presentations, etc.

      Key Qualifications/Requirements

      Education and/or Experience:
      High School diploma or GED
      Post-secondary education preferred or equivalent work-related experience in a related HR position.

      Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
      Working knowledge of HR practices and compliance requirements
      Computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
      Minimum of 2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment preferred in a position with employee interaction as part of the responsibilities
      Ability to operate standard office equipment preferred
      Proficient in ADP & E-Time

      These qualifications represent the minimum requirements of the position. Team members will be required to possess the ability and aptitudes to perform the duties proficiently.

      • Able to be flexible in hours of work on short notice in order to meet internal/external customer requirements (scheduled and non-scheduled overtime shifts, etc.)
