The Alternative Investments Due Diligence Associate is
responsible for evaluating and monitoring managers and funds for
Stifel's Alternative Investments platform. This role is required to
analyze products as potential additions to the product platform and
help educate Financial Advisors about Alternative Investments and
the platform. The Associate will focus on hedge funds, long-only
limited partnerships, securitized 1031 exchanges, exchange funds,
liquid alternatives, and other alternative investments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist colleagues in all aspects of the investment due diligence
process, including the ongoing monitoring of platform alternative
Contact external Alternative Investment product providers
("funds") to enhance relationships and prepare information for due
Manage existing due diligence files and reporting to ensure
documentation is complete and consistent with department and firm
Assist in the assessment of new investment opportunities by
establishing industry contacts, meeting prospective funds,
attending relevant industry events, performing qualitative,
quantitative and peer analyses.
Assist with writing due diligence cases for new investment
opportunities, ultimately for presentation to investment committee
and key stakeholders.
Work with Financial Advisors and Stifel clients as a
product-level specialist to facilitate informational requests.
Provide analytical support to senior investment professionals
for reporting, presentations and research-based projects.
Knowledge of general investment principles and characteristics
across asset classes with strong finance and economic competencies
with knowledge or experience in global financial markets. Prior
experience with alternative investments is a plus.
Minimum Required: B.S. or B.A. in Economics, Finance or related
Minimum Required: 0-1 years' experience in Financial
Minimum Required: Series 7, 63, 65 or 66 within 12 months of
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
