Role Summary To work safely and efficiently, ensuring set-up schedule and production needs are achieved. Key Responsibilities Know and understand Bowling Green Metalforming Quality and Environmental policies. Follows and supports and Magnas operating principles, including: Magna Employee Charter Operating under its principles by treating all team members equally, fairly and with dignity and respect. Abide by BGM policies and procedures as described in the most current version of the Team Member Handbook. Open Door Policy Solves issues with two-way, open and friendly communication. 5S Maintains and promotes good housekeeping by following the philosophy Everything has a place. Everything in its place. Safety First - Obey the plants safety rules and procedures by wearing PPE at all times and immediately addressing all safety concerns. Attend and participate in Team, Department, Plant-wide and any other meetings as required. Conduct all activities in a professional manner and positive attitude with an emphasis on personal responsibility. Complete set-up responsibility (i.e. new die set-up information) Pre-staging of all set-up (tools, dies, chutes, clamping required, transfer fingers, grippers, Julian dates) Load coils onto mandrel and feed through straightener and into die Unload coil truck and log coils into the system / manage coil inventory Assist Team Members when coils need re-banding and taken off press Establish and maintain communication with other team members and support departments Initiate and sustain 5S opportunities Assume Press Team Leader and/or Press Operator duties when required Supply tool room with necessary dies Continually organize die and coil storage area Support and assist operations during changeovers. Perform other duties as required. (This job description in no way implies that these are the only duties to be performed in this position. Team members will be required to follow any other job related instructions or to perform other job duties requested by their leader) Key Qualifications/Requirements Additional Information Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or GED Post-secondary education preferred, or related Tool & Die Setter experience in a Stamping facility preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel preferred Minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment preferred Operate standard office equipment preferred Certified BGM Crane Operator and Forklift Driver or the ability to successfully obtain BGM certification Ability to set-up and efficiently operate Aida, Schuler and Danly Presses preferred Competencies: Safety Quality of Work Dependability Productivity 5S Team Player Communications TWI Physical Demands Office and General factory environment Able to be flexible in hours of work on short notice in order to meet internal/external customer requirements (scheduled and non-scheduled overtime shifts, etc.) Possible Shift Work Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time, and occasional bending and stooping. Ability to lift in access of 40 pounds or more These qualifications represent the minimum requirements of the position.
