As a Shelter Veterinarian with the Metro Public Health Department, you'll be part of a mission-driven team that includes dedicated veterinary technicians, assistants, and animal care professionals-all working together to protect the health and well-being of animals and the community.

What You'll Do

Provide compassionate, high-quality medical care to shelter animals
Perform spay/neuter surgeries and other life-saving procedures
Collaborate with a passionate team to develop treatment plans and protocols
Engage in community outreach and public health initiatives
Help manage zoonotic disease prevention and wildlife-human interface issues

What We're Looking For

DVM or VMD from an accredited veterinary school
Licensed (or eligible for licensure) in Tennessee
Experience in shelter medicine, surgery, or public health is a plus
